Dental Bridges

All teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing, and maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. Whether by accident, decay, or age, tooth loss happens.
However, if you lose permanent teeth, the Dr. Yeh and Associates team strongly suggest replacing them to maintain proper alignment and function of the mouth. Fortunately, there are many cosmetic dentistry options for correcting tooth loss, including dental bridges.

Dental bridges are an Affordable Solution for Tooth Loss

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may know their importance to your appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together for many daily functions, from eating to speaking. With missing teeth, it isn’t easy to do these things. Missing teeth can and should be replaced.

Fixed bridges are a great way to restore your dental health and appearance.
A bridge, a device used to replace missing teeth, attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth. Typically, dental bridges are permanently attached (fixed bridges) to the teeth. Fixed bridges are applied by either placing dental crowns on the abutment teeth or by bonding the artificial teeth directly to the abutment teeth.

Procedure

Usually, the teeth bridge attachment procedure takes two or three appointments to complete. At the first appointment, our team prepares the teeth on either side of the gap by removing a portion of the enamel (surface of the teeth).

Since the dental bridge must be fabricated precisely to ensure the correct bite and match the opposing tooth, our dental team takes impressions of the teeth and sends them to our trusted dental laboratory, where the bridge will be constructed.

When the dental bridge returns from the laboratory, we cement the bridge to the natural teeth next to the space left by the missing tooth. Dental crowns cemented onto the natural teeth provide support for the bridge.

A pontic (false tooth) replaces the lost tooth. After the dental bridge procedure, your smile should look much fuller
